Major Oberoi Academy was founded in Hyderabad by Major S.P.S. Oberoi, who brings a background that combines defence-services experience with years of civil-services mentorship. Prior to founding the academy, he was closely involved in guiding UPSC and State PSC aspirants, working directly with students preparing for the Civil Services Examination, State Group services, and Defence entrance exams. Major Oberoi Academy was built around a simple idea: aspirants preparing for India's toughest competitive exams — UPSC CSE, TGPSC, APPSC, NDA, CDS, and CLAT — need more than lecture halls and printed notes. They need structure, accountability, and a mentor who has seen what separates a good attempt from a selected candidate.
